Frequently Asked Questions
Can we order a Bedge outside the 48 contiguous United States and still receive FREE SHIPPING?
No. However, we do ship Bedges all over the world and can obtain a personalized shipping quote for your order outside the contiguous United States. Please contact us at bedge4gerd@gmail.com for such orders.
How do I cover the Bedge?
There is no specific cover for the Bedge, but a regular-sized, fitted crib sheet will cover it. Alternatively, as the Bedge goes on top of your regular mattress, you may wish to cover it, wrapping it like a package, with a sheet that matches your bedding.
Are Bedges available in my local store?
Generally, the Bedge is only available by mail order. A few medical supply stores do stock it, and the number is growing. Tell us, by email, where you live, and we'll let you know if there's a store near you.
Can I use the Bedge on a water bed?
Yes, water beds won't give you as much support as regular mattresses, but the Bedge will still be effective.
What's the difference between a Bedge and a regular wedge that I'd find in a medical supply, or mattress store?
Typical wedges are much shorter than the Bedge. They may simply bend the neck and elevate the head, without raising the esophagus above the stomach. Unless you elevate the whole upper body, you're not getting gravity to work for you in keeping acid from refluxing. In addition, the Bedge is made of an extra firm polyether and has a comfortable, "egg crate" sleeping surface.
Can I still use a pillow when sleeping on the Bedge?
Yes. A thin pillow may provide extra comfort.
How big is the Bedge?
The Bedge is 9" high at the head, 30" wide, and 42" long.
Wouldn't I do just as well by elevating the head of my bed on blocks?
Elevating the whole bed on blocks will also help prevent reflux. Unfortunately, this is not easily done, and elevation of the entire bed may bother a sleeping partner. With the whole mattress at an angle, you may find yourself slipping down to the foot of the bed. Finally, there is the danger of the bed slipping off its blocks.
How much does the Bedge cost?
The Bedge costs $299.95 which includes free shipping and handling in the contiguous US.
How long will it take to get the Bedge?
Typically, our UPS Ground delivery will get the Bedge to you within 7 working days, anywhere in the country. We can also provide express or air delivery for an additional TBD surcharge. However, delivering the Bedge via express or air can be very expensive since it's an oversized package and is not recommended.
Can I return the Bedge once I've purchased it?
For your protection we regretfully cannot accept returns due to the health issue of transmittable infectious diseases as Bedges are a bedding product for personal use.
Does Bedge have a warranty against defects?
